Utah Family Pictures
25 years ago I did some scrapbooking, anyone else? With my first baby I spent a ton of time and money on fancy pages, organizing the photos, and layering the papers to create interesting frames. It's still cute and the photos mean the most to me, but it was so time consuming and honestly I love more simplicity.
Photo Apps
You probably take a bunch of photos on your phone. How many have you printed? Have you filled up your phone with too many photos? Paying for extra cloud storage? For me it's true I have a huge cloud full of video clips and snapshots that are hard to find. I do print my favorite photos and make photo books. Photos look better in print and it's fun to have photos on the wall.
Here are some ideas of favorite apps for organizing your photos. These apps save your photos and memories—with no extra work from you. (You can click the app name to see it.)
Qeepsake: This app texts you questions about your child. You text back, and it saves the answers in a digital journal!
Chatbooks: This app turns your favorite photos into books without you doing anything.
1 Second Everyday: Record one-second video clips, and the app makes them into a short movie.
Google Photos & Tinybeans: These apps store and organize your pictures for you.
Once you set them up, these apps work on their own!

The Monthly Photo Dump Method
Raise your hand if your camera roll is a disaster!
Instead of letting thousands of random photos pile up, try the Monthly Photo Dump Method.
At the end of each month, set aside 10 minutes to create a digital album labeled something like:
📁 Smith Family – January 2025
Scroll through your phone and add your favorite snapshots—messy toddler faces, goofy family selfies, or that perfect sunset from your beach trip.
No need for fancy editing or captions—just save the highlights!
This system keeps your memories neat, accessible, and ready to relive anytime!
Digital Frames
My mom loves to see her images on a digital frame and we can send new photos to add to her roll of images. She has Aura frames and it comes with unlimited storage.
One day, you’ll look back and realize the little moments were actually the big ones.
And you don’t need a scrapbook to remember them!
With just a few minutes a day, you can create a beautiful, effortless record of your family’s life—one that won’t collect dust on a shelf. Really you can do it while in line somewhere or at the airport when you're looking for something to do.
So I'd pick one method and start today.
Because years from now, when you’re flipping through those photo albums or re-reading those tiny but priceless memories, you’ll be so glad you did.

Professional Prints
Being a professional photographer, I prefer prints over digitals. Why? Because I've lost digital images, my CD's with images are out of date, flash drives don't always work, computers crash, and often I just can't find the digital images from years ago. Why not have your favorite images printed and make a book. I usually print a photo book of highlights from the year and give it to my husband in December.
Photo books from vacations are some of my favorite images, because it's where my family is all together. Now my kids are 18-25 and they aren't home together very often so these books and memories mean even more to me now.
Having professional photos taken can show the best side of your family. Family life is messy but it's also a beautiful time to realize how amazing these little people grow up so quickly. I love candid looking photos outdoors that show where you live, how you interact as a family, and create memories in a photo session. My sessions are stress free and more fun than you'd think it would be.
