Frequently Asked Questions for maternity Sessions

FAQ

What can I expect at my session?

I like to include your partner and kids if you want to. A new baby changes the whole family and it's fun to document this time all together.

The best time for maternity photos is 31-33 weeks pregnant. We'll do shots standing, sitting, and laying down.

I prefer to take your photos outdoors, but I also offer studio shots too.

When can I see my photos?

I will send your images to an on-line gallery within 2 weeks of our shoot. From the website you can download the digital images, order high resolution images, and also order professional prints. The photos will stay in the gallery for 2 weeks. Please tag me in your photos on social media and share your images!

Do I have to order prints through you?

Please print your photos. I have digital images I can't find anymore, flash drives that fail, and CD's that can't be loaded on my computer. it's vital to print your photos.
You can use other print services to print your purchased high resolution images, but I highly recommend my professional print services from my lab from my website. Orders are ready within 2 days and shipped to your home. My print store only works with professional photographers and has archival paper quality with a color calibrated screen and sharpness.
I love to see my large prints on the wall (something a cell phone can't do). I still look at my wedding photos on my wall from 24 years ago. Professional prints are timeless.
You can also order cards, announcements, gallery canvas images, metallic prints, and framed photos.

What payments do you accept?

I have a business Venmo, I take cash at the photo session, or I can send you an invoice for you to pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). At the time of booking I ask for $95. The remainder is paid at the time of the photo session.

What do I wear?

I recommend wearing a long dress that flatters your baby bump. Neutral, solid, pastel, or earth tone colors look best. Please avoid logos, big patterns, and distracting colors and prints.
As a family you can coordinate complimentary colors. You don't have to try to match, but can have colors that look good together. Think timeless over trendy. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Simplicity is best. In the end it's more about how you FEEL than what you wear. I want the session to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Where do you take photos?

I love to shoot outside about an hour before sunset. I love mountain views, fields, parks, and trails. You can suggest a location and we can decide where you want to go.

I do have a small studio for groups up to 6 and it's great for professional head shots. We can shoot there anytime of the day and not worry about the weather.

I also offer in-home lifestyle sessions. These are great for newborns and a relaxed atmosphere. Babies feel the most comfortable at home.

Can I have my pet in the photos?

Absolutely! I'm an animal lover and welcome your pets. Some locations do not allow dogs so always let me know if you want your pet in the photo.

Can I have a clothes change?

Sure! I charge by time so you can have a different outfit or 2. It's up to you. Some outdoor locations do not have a restroom, however. Just let me know.
