Lifestyle Family Photography
Lifestyle photography is less formal than traditional portrait photography. I was trained as a traditional portrait photographer, but I’m moving towards more lifestyle photo shoots. I break rules. There is messy hair, eyes closed, grumpy shots, running, playing, twirling…it’s real life. We walk together, laugh at each other, swing, toss a child in the air, it’s more playful.
In the photo shoot, I give directions and have people not look at me for a more relaxed look. I like more candid shots and more of a documentary style of photography. Of course I shoot the traditional shots, but my favorites are the unscripted, even quiet shots I take. I love capturing real emotions and seeing a connection in the family members. Life is full of emotions and I want to capture it all in my work.
